An excellent article, complete with a collection of some of the police’s recent most brutal attacks upon unarmed, peaceful American citizens came out on Alternet today, please read it and share.
Also, another article reveals that “…a little-known but influential private membership based organization… The Police Executive Research Forum, an international non-governmental organization with ties to law enforcement and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security..” is at the center of coordinating the attacks upon US Citizens who are exercising their constitutional right to free speech and freedom of assembly. See also this excellent article at Daily Kos. which reveals quite a lot more about PERF and their Homeland Security connections, among others.
Do you find this as interesting as I do, that a secretive private group is allowed to direct our public police force? Private groups are answerable to no-one; public servants are supposed to be answerable to the people.
Unsurprisingly, PERF has now posted a statement that it is shocked, shocked I tell you, that people have found out, er, “exaggerated” its role in the coordinated attacks on the Occupy Movement — while also publishing articles on new police guidelines for use of electronic control weapons (tasers) and policing political events. And of course, PERT is certainly taking its orders from those further up the financial/military food chain.
Remember that the Occupy Movement is bringing attention to the war on the poor and middle class that we’ve been living through for several decades. Certain forces don’t want us to become conscious of what’s happening to 99% of us. And the more conscious we become, the less sheep-like we will be. If those who orchestrate from behind the scenes to steal the world’s wealth and destroy the American middle class can just keep us asleep, watching reality TV and sports while struggling to feed corporate junk food to our families, the theft can continue unabated.
So when people speak out, and do so peacefully, forces must be deployed to squash the movement.
Exactly who these forces are becomes quite clear – it is the 1% to whom the world is their oyster. They are international, and have no concern for any country or government other than how it can enrich them. Their government sycophants may wrap themselves in the flag and publicly clutch their bibles, but those at the top are beyond “patriotism” or religion as they have more wealth than most governments.
“The poor have sometimes objected to being governed badly. The rich have always objected to being governed at all.” ~ G.K. Chesterton
Lobbyists for Wall Street are concerned that even republicans may begin to want to appear to turn against the banks, which would be, of course, not so good for the wealthy.
A lobbying firm has prepared a memo offering advice to its Wall Street clients to help them manage any political fallout from Occupy Wall Street, warning that Republicans may turn on big banks, at least in public, altering the political ground for years to come. It is one of the first clear signs that the movement may be starting to trouble the moneyed elite. (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/11/18/lobbying-firm-occupy-wall-street_n_1102310.html )
There is now a more aggressive right-wing effort to smear the Occupy movement. Expect more agent provocateurs, even more slanted media coverage, and more authoritarian fascist statements from reich wing politicians.
As we continue to connect the dots, it becomes obvious that the top global corporatists have a great interest in demonizing and destroying any movement of the people towards equality and fairness. These secretive elites, who are hoard the world’s wealth and create poverty, starvation, homelessness, and suffering all over the globe are realizing that the Occupy Movement is beginning to expose the “man behind the curtain”. The global elite who have control over world governments don’t want to be revealed. Their power is in their secrecy. The numbers are not in their favor.
We are in the birth of a new civilization, and the old unsustainable, unjust ways simply don’t serve us any longer.
Here are a couple graphics of wealth distribution.
These are simply depictions and don’t break down the wealth distribution even further to show the ultra-wealthy .01% who are even light-years more wealthy than their simple 1% brethren. These are the small amount of global economic royalty whose wealth allows them to purchase ultimate control over individuals and governments world-wide. The top 0.1 percent of earners are netting half of all capital gains — or gains on the sale of shares or property — according to Forbes. That means that 315,000 Americans are benefiting disproportionately from the financial transactions, which accounts for 60 percent of the income of the Forbes 400.
