We are just starting to get it… love is everything.
Humanity is a young species, and let’s face it: we have been children for far too long. We have not taken responsibility or understood the consequences of our actions, and like pubescent children, we have trashed our home planet. We have not understood how to respect our fellow beings with whom we share this Earth. We have often been violent and unkind to one another. We have caused untold damage due to our ignorance, but that’s part of being a child.
My guess would be that if you’re reading this blog you’re well aware that there’s a lot going on beneath the political circus that’s put on for our entertainment. You’ve watched Zeitgeist, and Inside Job, and Thrive. And you know that the real change is happening outside of politics.
Whatever system we eventually create, it will happen because all of US are making it happen…together. Politics merely reflects what’s happening, the desires of those “behind the curtain” and the old tribal mentality. It will eventually be outgrown…but for now, political decisions do have consequences of which we need to be aware, therefore we still need to pay attention to the current US political election.
And what a circus it is! Welcome to GOP Bizarro World, where the inmates don’t see the wonderful positive changes that are happening in the world – because their world does not include places like Europe. Or Canada. Or Iceland. Or Costa Rica. Nor do they see the devastation of pollution from the toxic industries they support — but boy, do they hate that “evil” EPA.
And how they love fetuses — but they’ll be damned if they help feed even one poor baby or child. That would be “socialism!”
They sure DO see skin color, though, and rigid sexual stereotypes…and those nasty unemployed people and poor people who are somehow a threat to their way of life. And those horrible powerful teachers, nurses and firefighters…why who let them into Amerika? Let’s not even get started on anti-American unions!
Empower yourself and your neighbors. Don’t be a victim!
You’ve heard the saying, “If voting changed anything, it’d be illegal.” I’ve believed it myself. Well it turns out that now, if you’re young, poor, a minority, a woman, elderly, or live in a democratic precinct located in important “swing” states — voting almost IS illegal. So could it be that voting could actually change something this time? (Hint:It probably has to do with the fact that the next President could appoint several new Supreme Court Justices.)
Right now, your right to vote is being threatened. As conscious individuals during this time of intense change,it is our responsibility to be aware of what is happening around us, and this includes the ego-based game of politics. The wealthy elite want to place their handpicked representatives of the GOP. back into the White House, Senate and House — and they’re willing to do anything to make that happen. Even though the Dems are no strangers to the lure of money, the rise of the far-reich wing of the GOP has made the party platform as heartless as they are corrupt.
